right click your “my computer” icon and then click properties. go to the hardware tab, and then click device manager. there you can see all of your components and the programs running them.

in linux open a terminal and enter the code
lshw
you should probably do this as superuser if you have the admin password
you should be able to find the specific hard ware you are looking for in the output.
